BREAKING: Victor Owens, 39, from Bridgeton, has been confirmed as the victim.
Victor Owens, 39, was riding south in the left lane of I-676 in Camden, NJ around 1:30 a.m. on July 27th, when he was hit from behind by Charlene Wingate. Wingate was driving her Nissan under the influence, with a suspended license.
Charlene Wingate, 60, from Blackwood, had a suspended license and failed to remain at the scene after the accident. She self-reported later on that she had struck a bicycle. Victory Owens later died from injuries suffered in the accident.
Wingate was located and arrested, charged with leaving the scene of a fatal motor vehicle crash, causing injury or death while driving with a suspended license, and driving under the influence. She’s being lodged at the Camden County Jail pending a detention hearing.
